1Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your garments of beauty, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for no more shall there come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.
2Shake yourself from the dust (aphar), arise, sit enthroned, O Jerusalem; loose yourself from the bands of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3For thus says YHWH, "For nothing you were sold, and not with money shall you be redeemed."
4For thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH, "To Egypt my people went down at first to sojourn there; and Assyria oppressed them without cause."
5And now, what have I here, says YHWH, seeing my people is taken for nothing? Those who rule over them howl, says YHWH, and continually all the day my name is blasphemed.
6Therefore my people shall know my name; therefore in that day they shall know that I am he who speaks: behold, here am I.
7How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who proclaims peace, who brings good tidings of good, who proclaims salvation (yeshuah), who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
8The voice of your watchmen! They lift up the voice, together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they shall see, when YHWH returns to Zion.
9Break forth, sing together, O waste places of Jerusalem; for YHWH has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10YHWH has bared his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation (yeshuah) of our God.
11Depart, depart, go out from there, touch no unclean thing; go out from her midst, be clean, you who bear the vessels of YHWH.
12For not in haste shall you go out, nor by flight shall you go; for YHWH goes before you, and the God of Israel is your rear guard.
13Behold, my servant shall deal wisely, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.
14Just as many were appalled at you — so marred beyond that of a man (ish) was his appearance, and his form beyond that of the sons of man (adam) —
15so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him; for that which had not been told them they shall see, and that which they had not heard they shall perceive.
