1Ho, every one who thirsts, come to the waters, and he who has no money; come, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2Why do you weigh out money for what is not bread, and your labor for what does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and let your soul (nephesh) delight itself in fatness.
3Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul (nephesh) shall live; and I will cut for you an everlasting covenant (berit), the faithful kindnesses of David.
4Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and a commander (tzivvah) to the peoples.
5Behold, a nation you do not know you shall call, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of YHWH your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.
6Seek YHWH while he may be found, call upon him while he is near.
7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the man (ish) of iniquity his thoughts; and let him return to YHWH, and he will have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says YHWH.
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10For as the rain comes down, and the snow, from the heavens, and does not return there, but waters the earth and makes it bring forth and sprout, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall do what I please, and prosper in that for which I sent it.
12For with joy you shall go out, and in peace you shall be led forth; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13Instead of the thornbush shall come up the cypress, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall be to YHWH for a name, for an everlasting sign (ot) that shall not be cut off.
