Judges 4

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And the sons of Israel again did the evil in the eyes of YHWH, and Ehud was dead.

And YHWH sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; and the captain of his army was Sisera, and he was dwelling in Harosheth-goiim.

And the sons of Israel cried to YHWH; for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.

And Deborah, a woman (ishah), a prophetess, the wife (ishah) of Lappidoth, she was judging Israel at that time.

And she was dwelling under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment (mishpat).

And she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said to him: "Has not YHWH, the God of Israel, commanded (tzivvah): Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men (ish) of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun?

And I will draw to you, to the brook Kishon, Sisera the captain of the army of Jabin, and his chariot, and his multitude; and I will give him into your hand."

And Barak said to her: "If you go with me, then I will go; but if you do not go with me, I will not go."

And she said: "Going I will go with you; nevertheless your glory will not be on the way which you are going, for into the hand of a woman (ishah) YHWH will sell Sisera." And Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.

And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh; and ten thousand men (ish) went up at his feet; and Deborah went up with him.

Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, from the sons of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

And they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to mount Tabor.

And Sisera called together all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth-goiim to the brook Kishon.

And Deborah said to Barak: "Arise, for this is the day in which YHWH has given Sisera into your hand; has not YHWH gone out before you?" And Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men (ish) after him.

And YHWH routed Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the camp, with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera came down off his chariot and fled on his feet.

And Barak pursued after the chariots and after the camp as far as Harosheth-goiim; and all the camp of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not even one was left.

And Sisera fled on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife (ishah) of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him: "Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; do not fear." And he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.

And he said to her: "Give me to drink, please, a little water, for I am thirsty." And she opened the skin of milk and gave him drink, and covered him.

And he said to her: "Stand at the door of the tent, and it shall be, if a man (ish) comes and asks you and says, 'Is there a man (ish) here?' then you shall say, 'No.'"

And Jael, the wife (ishah) of Heber, took a pin of the tent and put the hammer in her hand, and came to him softly, and drove the pin into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was in deep sleep and weary; and he died.

And behold, Barak pursuing Sisera; and Jael went out to meet him, and said to him: "Come, and I will show you the man (ish) whom you are seeking." And he came to her, and behold, Sisera fallen dead, and the pin in his temple.

And God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel.

And the hand of the sons of Israel went, going on and growing hard against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they cut off Jabin king of Canaan.
