Jeremiah 43

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah finished speaking to all the people all the words of YHWH their God, with which YHWH their God had sent him to them—all these words—

that Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the insolent men (ish), spoke, saying to Jeremiah: Falsely you are speaking; YHWH our God has not sent you to say: Do not enter Egypt to sojourn there;

but Baruch the son of Neriah is inciting you against us, in order to give us into the hand of the Chaldeans, to put us to death, and to carry us into exile to Babylon.

And Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not listen to the voice of YHWH, to dwell in the land of Judah.

And Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah who had returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to sojourn in the land of Judah:

the mighty men, and the women (ishah), and the little ones, and the daughters of the king, and every soul (nephesh) whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;

and they entered the land of Egypt, for they did not listen to the voice of YHWH; and they came to Tahpanhes.

And the word of YHWH came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:

Take in your hand great stones, and hide them in the mortar in the brickwork that is at the entrance of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, in the eyes of the men (ish) of Judah;

and say to them: Thus said YHWH of hosts (tzevaot), God of Israel: Behold, I am sending and will take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and I will set his throne above these stones that I have hidden; and he will spread his canopy over them.

And he will come, and strike the land of Egypt: those who are for death, to death; and those who are for captivity, to captivity; and those who are for the sword, to the sword.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he will burn them and carry them captive; and he will wrap up the land of Egypt as the shepherd wraps up his garment, and he will go out from there in peace.

And he will break the pillars of Beth-shemesh that are in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt he will burn with fire.
