Job 16

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And Job answered and said:

I have heard many such things; comforters of trouble are you all.

Is there an end to words of spirit (ruach)? Or what provokes you that you answer?

I also could speak like you, if your soul (nephesh) were in the place of my soul (nephesh); I could heap up words against you, and shake my head at you.

I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips would hold back (your grief).

If I speak, my pain is not held back; and if I forbear, what goes from me?

But now He has wearied me; You have made desolate all my company.

And You have shriveled me up — it has become a witness; and my leanness rises up against me, it answers to my face.

His anger has torn me and hated me; He has gnashed at me with His teeth; my adversary sharpens his eyes at me.

They have gaped at me with their mouth; in reproach they have struck my cheeks; together they mass themselves against me.

God delivers me up to the unjust, and casts me into the hands of the wicked.

I was at ease, and He shattered me; and He grasped me by my neck and dashed me to pieces; and He set me up for Himself as a target.

His archers surround me; He splits my kidneys and does not spare; He pours out my gall to the ground.

He breaks me, breach upon the face of breach; He runs at me like a mighty man.

Sackcloth I have sewn upon my skin, and I have laid my horn in the dust (aphar).

My face is reddened from weeping, and upon my eyelids is the shadow of death;

although there is no violence in my palms, and my prayer is pure.

O earth, do not cover my blood, and let there be no place for my cry.

Even now, behold, my witness is in the heavens, and He who testifies for me is in the heights.

My intercessors are my friends; to God my eye pours out tears.

And that He would arbitrate for a man with God, and for a son of man (adam) with his neighbor.

For the years of number are coming, and the path by which I shall not return I shall walk.
