Job 17

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

My spirit (ruach) is broken, my days are extinguished, the graves are mine.

Surely mockeries are with me, and on their provocation my eye dwells.

Lay down now, be my surety with Yourself; who is he that will strike his hand with mine?

For their heart You have hidden from understanding; therefore You will not exalt them.

He who denounces friends for a portion — even the eyes of his children shall fail.

And He has set me up for a byword of peoples, and I have become one spat upon to the face.

And my eye is dim from vexation, and all my limbs are like a shadow.

Upright men are appalled at this, and the innocent rouses himself against the profane.

And the righteous holds to his way, and one clean of hands adds strength.

But all of you, return now and come; and I shall not find among you a wise man.

My days are past, my purposes are broken off, the possessions of my heart.

Night for day they set; light is near in the face of darkness.

If I wait — Sheol is my house; in the darkness I have spread my couch.

To the pit I have called, 'You are my father'; to the worm, 'My mother and my sister.'

Then where is my hope? And my hope — who shall see it?

To the bars of Sheol they shall go down, when together upon the dust (aphar) is rest.
