1And Elihu continued and said:
2"Wait for me a little, and I will show you, for there are yet words for God.
3I will bring my knowledge from afar, and I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4For truly my words are not falsehood; one perfect in knowledge is with you.
5Behold, God is mighty, and he does not despise; mighty in strength of heart.
6He does not keep the wicked alive, but he gives the judgment (mishpat) of the afflicted.
7He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous; but with kings on the throne he seats them forever, and they are exalted.
8And if they are bound in fetters, caught in cords of affliction;
9then he declares to them their work, and their transgressions, that they have acted proudly.
10And he opens their ear to discipline, and says that they should return from iniquity.
11If they hearken and serve (avad), they complete their days in good, and their years in pleasantness.
12And if they do not hearken, they pass away by the sword, and they perish without knowledge.
13But the godless of heart lay up anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them.
14Their soul (nephesh) dies in youth, and their life (chai) among the cult-prostitutes.
15He delivers the afflicted in his affliction, and opens their ear in oppression.
16And also he would allure you out of the mouth of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness under it; and the setting of your table is full of fatness.
17But you are full of the judgment (din) of the wicked; judgment (din) and judgment (mishpat) take hold.
18For beware of wrath, lest it entice you with a stroke; and let not the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.
19Will your cry avail, that you be not in distress, or all the forces of strength?
20Do not pant for the night, when peoples go up in their place.
21Take heed, do not turn to iniquity, for this you have chosen rather than affliction.
22Behold, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him?
23Who has appointed him his way? And who has said, 'You have done injustice'?
24Remember to magnify his work, which men (ish) have sung.
25Every man (adam) has looked on it; man beholds from afar.
26Behold, God is great, and we do not know him; the number of his years is beyond searching.
27For he draws up the drops of water; they distill as rain to his mist;
28which the skies pour down; they drop upon man (adam) in abundance.
29Yea, can any understand the spreadings of the cloud, the crashings of his pavilion?
30Behold, he spreads his light upon it, and he covers the roots of the sea.
31For by them he judges peoples; he gives food in abundance.
32He covers the light upon his hands, and commands (tzivvah) it against the mark.
33Its noise tells concerning him; the cattle also, concerning what rises up.
