1And Job answered YHWH, and said:
2"I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose is withheld from you.
3'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have declared what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4'Hear, I pray, and I will speak; I will ask you, and make me know.'
5By the hearing of the ear I had heard of you, but now my eye sees you.
6Therefore I abhor myself, and I repent in dust (aphar) and ashes."
7And it came to pass, after YHWH had spoken these words to Job, that YHWH said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My anger is kindled against you and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me what is right, like my servant Job.
8And now take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves; and my servant Job shall pray for you—for him I will accept—lest I do with you folly; for you have not spoken of me what is right, like my servant Job."
9And Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as YHWH had spoken to them; and YHWH lifted up the face of Job.
10And YHWH turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friend; and YHWH added to all that Job had, to double.
11Then came to him all his brothers and all his sisters and all his former acquaintances, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they bemoaned him and comforted him concerning all the evil that YHWH had brought upon him; and they gave him, each man (ish) one piece of money, and each man (ish) one ring of gold.
12And YHWH blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-donkeys.
13And he had seven sons and three daughters.
14And he called the name of the first Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.
15And in all the land there were not found women (ishah) as fair as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
16And Job lived after this a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons and his sons' sons, four generations.
17And Job died, old and full of days.
