Leviticus 11

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And YHWH spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them:

Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: This is the living thing (chai) which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

Everything that parts the hoof, and is cleft, splitting the clefts of the hooves, bringing up the cud, among the beasts, that you may eat.

Only this you shall not eat, of those that bring up the cud, and of those that part the hoof: the camel, because it brings up the cud but it does not part the hoof, it is unclean to you.

And the rock-badger, because it brings up the cud but it does not part the hoof, it is unclean to you.

And the hare, because it brings up the cud but it does not part the hoof, it is unclean to you.

And the swine, because it parts the hoof and is cleft, splitting the cleft, but it does not ruminate the cud, it is unclean to you.

Of their flesh (basar) you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.

This you may eat of all that are in the waters: everything that has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them you may eat.

And all that have no fins and scales in the seas and in the rivers, of all that swarm in the waters, and of every living soul (nephesh) that is in the waters, they are a detestable thing to you.

And they shall be a detestable thing to you; of their flesh (basar) you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall hold in detestation.

Everything that has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is a detestable thing to you.

And these you shall hold in detestation among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are a detestable thing: the eagle, and the bearded vulture, and the osprey;

and the kite, and the falcon after its kind;

every raven after its kind;

and the daughter of the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-mew, and the hawk after its kind;

and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl;

and the horned owl, and the pelican, and the carrion-vulture;

and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

Every swarming thing of the birds that goes upon all fours is a detestable thing to you.

Only this you may eat of every swarming thing of the birds that goes upon all fours, which has jointed legs above its feet, with which to leap upon the earth;

These of them you may eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.

But every swarming thing of the birds which has four feet is a detestable thing to you.

And by these you shall become unclean; everyone who touches their carcass shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

And everyone who carries any of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

For every beast which parts the hoof but is not cleft in clefts, nor brings up the cud, they are unclean to you; everyone who touches them shall be unclean.

And everything that goes upon its paws, among every living thing (chai) that goes upon all fours, they are unclean to you; everyone who touches their carcass shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

And he who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean before(ad עד) the evening; they are unclean to you.

And this is the unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm upon the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind,

and the gecko, and the land-crocodile, and the lizard, and the sand-lizard, and the chameleon.

These are the unclean to you among all that swarm; everyone who touches them when they are dead shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

And everything upon which any of them falls when they are dead shall be unclean, whether any vessel of wood, or garment, or skin, or sack, any vessel with which work is done, it shall be put into water, and it shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening; then it shall be clean.

And every earthen vessel into whose midst any of them falls, everything that is in its midst shall be unclean, and it you shall break.

Of all the food which may be eaten, that on which water comes shall be unclean; and all drink which may be drunk in any vessel shall be unclean.

And everything upon which any of their carcass falls shall be unclean; an oven or a stove shall be broken down; they are unclean, and they shall be unclean to you.

Only a spring or a cistern, a gathering of water, shall be clean; but he who touches their carcass shall be unclean.

And if any of their carcass falls upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

But if water is put upon the seed, and any of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.

And if any of the beasts which is for you to eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean before(ad עד) the evening.

And he who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening; and he who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

And every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth is a detestable thing; it shall not be eaten.

Everything that goes upon the belly, and everything that goes upon all fours, up to everything that has many feet, of all the swarming things that swarm upon the earth, you shall not eat them; for they are a detestable thing.

Do not make your souls (nephesh) detestable with any swarming thing that swarms, and do not make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be made unclean by them.

For I am YHWH your God; and you shall sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy, for I am holy; and you shall not defile your souls (nephesh) with any swarming thing that creeps upon the earth.

For I am YHWH who brings you up from the land of Egypt, to be your God; and you shall be holy, for I am holy.

This is the Torah of the beast, and of the bird, and of every living soul (nephesh) that moves in the waters, and of every soul (nephesh) that swarms upon the earth;

to make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing (chai) that may be eaten and the living thing (chai) that may not be eaten.
