1And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying:
2Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: A woman (ishah), when she conceives seed and bears a male, then she shall be unclean seven days; as the days of the impurity of her sickness she shall be unclean.
3And in the eighth day the flesh (basar) of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
4And thirty days and three days she shall remain in the blood of purification; she shall not touch any holy thing, and she shall not come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification are fulfilled.
5And if she bears a female, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and sixty days and six days she shall remain upon the blood of purification.
6And when the days of her purification are fulfilled, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a son of its year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering, to the opening of the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), to the priest.
7And he shall offer it before YHWH, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the Torah of her who bears, whether for a male or for a female.
8And if her hand does not find enough for a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, the one for a burnt offering and the one for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
