And YHWH said to Moses: Say to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and you shall say to them: For a soul (nephesh) none shall defile himself among his people;
except for his kin who is near to him: for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother;
and for his sister, the virgin who is near to him, who has not belonged to a man (ish): for her he may defile himself.
He shall not defile himself as a master among his people, to profane himself.
They shall not make baldness upon their head, and the corner of their beard they shall not shave, and in their flesh (basar) they shall not cut a cutting.
Holy they shall be to their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God; for the fire-offerings of YHWH, the bread of their God, they offer; so they shall be holy.
A woman (ishah) who is a harlot or profaned they shall not take, and a woman (ishah) divorced from her husband (ish) they shall not take; for he is holy to his God.
And you shall sanctify him, for the bread of your God he offers; holy he shall be to you, for holy am I, YHWH, who sanctifies you.
And a daughter of a man (ish) who is a priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, her father she profanes; with fire she shall be burned.
And the priest who is great among his brothers, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who has filled his hand to put on the garments, his head he shall not let go loose, and his garments he shall not tear.
And to any dead souls (nephesh) he shall not come; for his father or for his mother he shall not defile himself.
And from the sanctuary he shall not go out, and he shall not profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am YHWH.
And he, a woman (ishah) in her virginity he shall take.
A widow, or a divorced one, or a profaned one, a harlot, these he shall not take; but a virgin from his people he shall take as a woman (ishah).
And he shall not profane his seed among his people; for I am YHWH who sanctifies him.
And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying:
Speak to Aaron, saying: A man (ish) from your seed throughout their generations in whom there is a blemish shall not draw near to offer the bread of his God.
For any man (ish) in whom there is a blemish shall not draw near: a man (ish) blind, or lame, or mutilated, or with a limb overlong;
or a man (ish) in whom there is a broken foot, or a broken hand;
or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or one with a blemish in his eye, or scab, or scurvy, or with crushed testicles.
Any man (ish) in whom there is a blemish, from the seed of Aaron the priest, shall not approach to offer the fire-offerings of YHWH; a blemish is in him; the bread of his God he shall not approach to offer.
The bread of his God, of the most holy and of the holy, he may eat.
Only to the veil he shall not come, and to the altar he shall not approach, for a blemish is in him; that he profane not my holy places; for I am YHWH who sanctifies them.
And Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel.
