1And a soul (nephesh), when it sins, and it heard the voice of an oath, and he is a witness, or he saw or knew—if he does not tell it, then he shall bear his iniquity;
2or a soul (nephesh) which touches any unclean thing, or the carcass of an unclean living thing (chai), or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of an unclean swarming thing, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, and becomes guilty;
3or when he touches the uncleanness of man (adam), of any of his uncleanness by which he becomes unclean, and it is hidden from him, and he knew, and becomes guilty;
4or a soul (nephesh), when it swears, speaking rashly with the lips to do evil or to do good, of anything that the man (adam) speaks rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him, and he knew, and becomes guilty in one of these;
5and it shall be, when he becomes guilty in one of these, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned;
6and he shall bring his guilt offering to YHWH for his sin which he sinned, a female from the flock, a ewe-lamb or a female goat, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him from his sin.
7And if his hand does not reach enough for a sheep, then he shall bring his guilt offering, which he sinned, two turtledoves or two sons of a dove, to YHWH: one for a sin offering, and one for a burnt offering.
8And he shall bring them to the priest, and he shall bring near that which is for the sin offering first, and pinch off its head from the front of its neck, but he shall not divide it.
9And he shall sprinkle from the blood of the sin offering upon the wall of the altar, and that which remains of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar; it is a sin offering.
10And the second he shall make a burnt offering, according to the judgment (mishpat); and the priest shall make atonement for him from his sin which he sinned, and it shall be forgiven to him.
11And if his hand does not reach to two turtledoves or to two sons of a dove, then he shall bring his offering, which he sinned, a tenth of the ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall not put upon it oil, and he shall not place upon it frankincense, for it is a sin offering.
12And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall grasp from it the fullness of his fist, its memorial portion, and make it smoke upon the altar, upon the fire offerings of YHWH; it is a sin offering.
13And the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he sinned from one of these, and it shall be forgiven to him; and it shall be for the priest, like the grain offering."
14And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying:
15"A soul (nephesh), when it commits a trespass, and sins through error against the holy things of YHWH, then he shall bring his guilt offering to YHWH, a ram without blemish from the flock, by your valuation in silver of shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, for a guilt offering.
16And that which he sinned from the holy thing he shall repay, and its fifth he shall add upon it, and give it to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and it shall be forgiven to him.
17And if a soul (nephesh) sins, and does one from all the commandments (mitzvot) of YHWH which shall not be done, though he did not know, yet he is guilty, and he shall bear his iniquity.
18And he shall bring a ram without blemish from the flock, by your valuation, for a guilt offering, to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his error which he erred, though he did not know it, and it shall be forgiven to him.
19It is a guilt offering; he is surely guilty to YHWH."
20And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying:
21"A soul (nephesh), when it sins, and commits a trespass against YHWH, and deals falsely with his fellow concerning a deposit, or a pledge of the hand, or robbery, or has oppressed his fellow;
22or has found a lost thing, and deals falsely concerning it, and swears to a falsehood; concerning one from all these that the man (adam) does, sinning in them;
23then it shall be, when he sins and becomes guilty, that he shall return the robbed thing which he robbed, or the oppression which he oppressed, or the deposit which was deposited with him, or the lost thing which he found,
24or anything from all about which he swears to a falsehood, then he shall repay it in its head, and its fifths he shall add upon it; to him to whom it belongs he shall give it, on the day of his guilt.
25And his guilt offering he shall bring to YHWH, a ram without blemish from the flock, by your valuation, for a guilt offering, to the priest.
26And the priest shall make atonement for him before YHWH, and it shall be forgiven to him, concerning one from all that he does to become guilty in it."
