And it came about soon afterward that He went about through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God, and the twelve were with Him,
and also certain women who had been healed of evil pneuma(spirits) and sicknesses: Mariam called Magdalene, from whom seven daimonion(individual evil spirits to be expelled) had gone out,
and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who were providing for them out of their means.
And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town were coming to Him, He spoke by way of a parable:
"The sower went out to sow his seed, and as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the heaven devoured it.
And some fell on the rock, and when it sprang up it withered away because it had no moisture.
And some fell among the thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.
And some fell into good ground and sprang up and yielded grain a hundredfold." As He said these things He called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
His disciples were asking Him what this parable meant.
He said, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.
Now the parable is this: the seed is the logos(word) of God.
Those along the path are those who have heard; then the diabolos(devil, accuser, slanderer) comes and takes away the logos(word) from their kardia(heart, soul-domain), so that they may not believe and be saved.
Those on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the logos(word) with joy, but these have no root; they believe for a while, and in a kairos(appointed-time) of testing fall away.
And what fell among the thorns represents those who have heard, but as they go on their way they are choked by the worries and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
And the seed in the good ground represents those who, hearing the logos(word) in a noble and good kardia(heart, soul-domain), hold it fast and bear fruit with endurance.
Now no one, after lighting a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
For nothing is hidden that will not become visible, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him will be given, and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away."
And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they could not reach Him because of the crowd.
And it was reported to Him, "Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wishing to see You."
He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the logos(word) of God and do it."
Now it came about on one of those days that He got into a boat, He and His disciples, and He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side of the lake," and they set out.
But as they were sailing He fell asleep; and a violent windstorm descended on the lake, and they were being swamped and were in danger.
They came to Him and woke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm.
He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And being afraid they marveled, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water and they obey Him?"
And they sailed to the region of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
When He stepped ashore, a man from the city met Him who had daimonion(individual evil spirits to be expelled) for a long chronos(chronological-time); he was wearing no clothes and was not living in a house but in the tombs.
And when he saw Yeshua(Jesus), he cried out and fell before Him and said with a loud voice, "What do I have to do with You, Yeshua(Jesus), Son of God Most High? I beg You, do not torment me."
For He had commanded the akathartos(unclean) pneuma(spirit) to come out of the man; for many times it had seized him, and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and breaking the bonds he was driven by the daimon(demon) into the desolate places.
Yeshua(Jesus) asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "Legion" — because many daimonion(individual evil spirits to be expelled) had entered him.
And they were begging Him not to command them to depart into the abyssos(Abyss).
Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding there on the hillside, and they begged Him to permit them to enter into those; and He permitted them.
The daimonion(individual evil spirits to be expelled) came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and reported it in the city and in the countryside.
People went out to see what had happened, and they came to Yeshua(Jesus) and found the man from whom the daimonion(individual evil spirits to be expelled) had gone out, sitting at the feet of Yeshua(Jesus), clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.
And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been saved.
And all the people of the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Him to depart from them, for they were gripped by great fear; and He got into a boat and returned.
The man from whom the daimonion(individual evil spirits to be expelled) had gone out was begging to go with Him; but Yeshua(Jesus) dismissed him, saying,
"Return to your home and describe what God has done for you." And he went away, proclaiming through all the city what Yeshua(Jesus) had done for him.
Now when Yeshua(Jesus) returned, the crowd welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him.
And behold, there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue; and falling at Yeshua's(Jesus') feet he begged Him to come to his house,
because he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying; and as He went, the crowds were pressing around Him.
And a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by anyone,
came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment, and immediately her flow of blood stopped.
Yeshua(Jesus) said, "Who touched Me?" While all were denying it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the crowds are pressing in on You and crushing You, and You ask, 'Who touched Me?'"
But Yeshua(Jesus) said, "Someone touched Me, for I perceived that dynamis(power) had gone out from Me."
When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, trembling she came and fell before Him; and declaring before all the people why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed,
He said to her, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has saved you; go in eirene(peace)."
While He was still speaking, someone came from the house of the synagogue ruler, saying to him, "Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore."
But Yeshua(Jesus), hearing this, answered him, "Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be saved."
When He came to the house He allowed no one to enter with Him, except Peter and John and James and the girl's father and mother.
Now they were all weeping and mourning for her, but He said, "Do not weep; she has not died, but is sleeping."
And they were laughing at Him, knowing that she had died.
But He took her by the hand and called out, saying, "Child, arise!"
And her pneuma(spirit) returned, and she got up immediately, and He directed that something be given her to eat.
Her parents were astonished, but He ordered them to tell no one what had happened.
