Numbers 7

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And it came to pass on the day Moses finished setting up the tabernacle (mishkan), that he anointed it and sanctified it, and all its vessels, and the altar and all its vessels; and he anointed them and sanctified them.

And the leaders of Israel brought near, the heads of the house of their fathers — they are the leaders of the tribes, they who were standing over those who were numbered.

And they brought their offering before YHWH: six covered wagons and twelve oxen — a wagon for two of the leaders, and an ox for each one; and they brought them near before the tabernacle (mishkan).

And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying:

Take from them, and they shall be to serve (avad) the service (avodah) of the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed); and you shall give them to the Levites, each man (ish) according to his service (avodah).

And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them to the Levites.

The two wagons and the four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service (avodah).

And the four wagons and the eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service (avodah), under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

But to the sons of Kohath he gave none, because the service (avodah) of the holy things was upon them; upon the shoulder they would carry.
