1A man (ish) of reproofs who hardens his neck shall suddenly be broken, and there is no healing.
2When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rules, the people groan.
3A man (ish) who loves wisdom gladdens his father, but a companion of harlots wastes wealth.
4A king by judgment (mishpat) establishes a land, but a man (ish) of exactions overthrows it.
5A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps.
6In the transgression of an evil man (ish) is a snare, but the righteous sings and rejoices.
7The righteous knows the judgment (din) of the poor; the wicked does not understand knowledge.
8Men (ish) of scorn set a city ablaze, but the wise turn away wrath.
9A wise man (ish) contends with a foolish man (ish), and whether he rages or laughs, there is no rest.
10Men (ish) of blood hate the blameless, and the upright seek his soul (nephesh).
11A fool brings out all his spirit (ruach), but a wise man stills it back within.
12A ruler who hearkens to a word of falsehood, all his ministers are wicked.
13The poor man and a man (ish) of oppressions meet together; YHWH gives light to the eyes of both of them.
14A king who judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be established forever.
15The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a youth left to himself shames his mother.
16When the wicked increase, transgression increases, but the righteous shall gaze upon their fall.
17Discipline your son, and he will give you rest, and he will give delights to your soul (nephesh).
18Where there is no vision, a people is unrestrained, but he who keeps Torah, happy is he.
19By words a servant is not corrected, for he understands but there is no response.
20Do you see a man (ish) hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
21He who pampers his servant from youth, his end shall be grief.
22A man (ish) of anger stirs up strife, and a master of wrath abounds in transgression.
23The pride of a man (adam) shall bring him low, but the lowly of spirit (ruach) shall attain honor.
24He who shares with a thief hates his own soul (nephesh); he hears the oath and tells nothing.
25The fear of man (adam) brings a snare, but he who trusts in YHWH shall be set on high.
26Many seek the face of a ruler, but from YHWH is the judgment (mishpat) of a man (ish).
27An abomination to the righteous is a man (ish) of injustice, and an abomination to the wicked is the upright of way.
