Proverbs 7

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

My son, keep my words, and my commandments (mitzvah) treasure up with you.

Keep my commandments (mitzvah) and live, and my Torah as the pupil of your eyes.

Bind them upon your fingers, write them upon the tablet of your heart.

Say to wisdom, "You are my sister," and call understanding "kinswoman";

To keep you from the strange woman (ishah), from the foreign woman who makes her words smooth.

For at the window of my house, through my lattice I looked down,

And I saw among the simple ones, I discerned among the sons, a young man lacking heart,

Passing through the street beside her corner, and the way of her house he strode,

In the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the black of night and thick darkness.

And behold, a woman (ishah) to meet him, in the attire of a harlot and guarded of heart.

Boisterous is she and rebellious; in her house her feet do not abide.

Now outside, now in the broad places, and beside every corner she lies in wait.

And she seized him and kissed him; she made bold her face and said to him,

"Sacrifices of peace-offerings are upon me; today I have paid my vows.

Therefore I came out to meet you, to seek your face, and I have found you.

With coverings I have spread my couch, with striped cloths, linen yarn of Egypt.

I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; let us delight ourselves with loves.

For the man (ish) is not in his house; he has gone on a journey from afar.

The bundle of silver he took in his hand; at the day of the full moon he will come to his house."

She turned him aside with the abundance of her persuasion; with the smoothness of her lips she compelled him.

Going after her suddenly, as an ox goes to the slaughter, and as a fetter to the correction of a fool,

Until an arrow splits his liver, as a bird hastens to the snare, and he does not know that it is at the cost of his soul (nephesh).

And now, sons, hear me, and attend to the words of my mouth.

Let not your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray in her paths.

For many are the slain she has cast down, and numerous are all her killed.

The ways of Sheol are her house, going down to the chambers of death.
