2My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Far from my salvation (yeshuah) are the words of my roaring.
3My God, I call by day and you do not answer, and by night, and there is no silence for me.
4Yet you are holy, enthroned upon the praises of Israel.
5In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them.
6To you they cried out and were delivered; in you they trusted and were not ashamed.
7But I am a worm and not a man (ish), a reproach of man (adam) and despised of the people.
8All who see me mock me; they open the lip, they shake the head:
9"Commit to YHWH; let him deliver him, let him rescue him, since he delights in him."
10For you are the one who took me out of the womb, making me trust upon my mother's breasts.
11Upon you I was cast from the womb; from my mother's belly you are my God.
12Do not be far from me, for trouble is near, for there is none to help.
13Many bulls have surrounded me; mighty ones of Bashan have encircled me.
14They open wide their mouth against me, a lion tearing and roaring.
15Like water I am poured out, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart has become like wax, melted within my inward parts.
16My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue clings to my jaws; and to the dust (aphar) of death you lay me.
17For dogs have surrounded me; a company of evildoers has encircled me; they pierced my hands and my feet.
18I can count all my bones; they look, they gaze upon me.
19They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.
20But you, YHWH, do not be far off; my strength, hasten to my help.
21Deliver my soul (nephesh) from the sword, my only one from the hand of the dog.
22Save (yasha) me from the mouth of the lion; and from the horns of the wild oxen you have answered me.
23I will declare your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.
24You who fear YHWH, praise him; all the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and stand in awe of him, all the seed of Israel.
25For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; nor has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard.
26From you is my praise in the great assembly; my vows I will pay before those who fear him.
27The humble will eat and be satisfied; those who seek him will praise YHWH; may your heart live forever.
28All the ends of the earth will remember and return to YHWH; and all the families of the nations will bow down before you.
29For the kingdom belongs to YHWH, and he rules over the nations.
30All the fat ones of the earth will eat and bow down; before him will kneel all who go down to the dust (aphar), and his soul (nephesh) he did not keep alive.
31A seed will serve (avad) him; it will be told of my Lord (Adonai) to the generation.
32They will come and declare his righteousness to a people yet to be born, that he has done it.
