1Shout for joy, you righteous, in YHWH; for the upright praise is comely.
2Give thanks to YHWH with the lyre; with the harp of ten strings sing praises to him.
3Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.
4For the word of YHWH is upright, and all his work is in faithfulness.
5He loves righteousness and judgment (mishpat); the earth is full of the lovingkindness of YHWH.
6By the word of YHWH the heavens were made, and by the spirit (ruach) of his mouth all their host.
7He gathers as a heap the waters of the sea; he puts the deeps in storehouses.
8Let all the earth fear YHWH; let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.
9For he spoke, and it was; he commanded (tzivvah), and it stood.
10YHWH frustrates the counsel of nations; he thwarts the thoughts of peoples.
11The counsel of YHWH stands forever, the thoughts of his heart to generation and generation.
12Blessed is the nation whose God is YHWH, the people he has chosen for an inheritance for himself.
13From heaven YHWH looks; he sees all the sons of man (adam).
14From the place of his dwelling he gazes upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15He who forms their hearts together, who understands all their deeds.
16The king is not saved (yasha) by the abundance of an army; a mighty man is not delivered by abundance of strength.
17A lie is the horse for deliverance, and by its great strength it does not provide escape.
18Behold, the eye of YHWH is toward those who fear him, toward those who wait for his lovingkindness,
19to deliver their soul (nephesh) from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20Our soul (nephesh) waits for YHWH; he is our help and our shield.
21For in him our heart rejoices, for in his holy name we have trusted.
22Let your lovingkindness, YHWH, be upon us, just as we have waited for you.
