To the chief musician, "Do not destroy." Of David, a Michtam, when Saul sent, and they watched the house to put him to death.
Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; from those who rise up against me set me on high.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and from men (ish) of blood save me.
For behold, they lie in wait for my soul (nephesh); the strong ones gather against me—not for my transgression nor for my sin, YHWH.
Without iniquity they run and establish themselves; awake to meet me and see.
And You, YHWH God of hosts (tzevaot), the God of Israel, awake to punish all the nations; do not be gracious to any treacherous workers of iniquity. Selah.
They return at evening; they howl like a dog and go around the city.
Behold, they pour out with their mouth; swords are in their lips, for "Who hears?"
But You, YHWH, laugh at them; You mock all the nations.
Because of his strength, for You I will watch, for God is my high tower.
My God of lovingkindness will come to meet me; God will let me look upon my foes.
Do not slay them, lest my people forget; make them wander by Your power, and bring them down, O our shield, my Lord (Adonai).
For the sin of their mouth, the word of their lips, let them be caught in their pride, and for the curse and the lie that they recount.
Consume them in wrath, consume them, until they are no more; and let them know that God rules in Jacob, to the ends of the earth. Selah.
And they return at evening; they howl like a dog and go around the city.
They wander to eat; if they are not satisfied, they stay the night.
But as for me, I will sing of Your strength, and I will sing aloud of Your lovingkindness in the morning; for You have been a high tower for me, and a refuge in the day of my distress.
O my strength, to You I will sing praises; for God is my high tower, my God of lovingkindness.
