Of Solomon. O God, give your judgments (mishpat) to the king, and your righteousness to the king's son.
He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with judgment (mishpat).
Let the mountains bear peace to the people, and the hills, in righteousness.
He will judge the poor of the people, he will save the children of the needy, and he will crush the oppressor.
They will fear you with the sun, and before the moon, generation of generations.
He will come down like rain upon the mown grass, like showers that drip on the earth.
In his days let the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace, until there is no moon.
And let him have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
Before him let the desert-dwellers bow, and his enemies lick the dust (aphar).
The kings of Tarshish and the isles will return tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring a gift.
And let all kings bow down to him; let all nations serve (avad) him.
For he will deliver the needy who cries out, and the poor who has no helper.
He will have pity on the weak and needy, and the souls (nephesh) of the needy he will save.
From oppression and from violence he will redeem their soul (nephesh), and precious will their blood be in his eyes.
And let him live, and let him give to him of the gold of Sheba; and let him pray for him continually, all the day let him bless him.
Let there be an abundance of grain in the land, on the top of the mountains; let its fruit wave like Lebanon, and let them blossom from the city like the grass of the earth.
Let his name be forever; before the sun let his name be continued; and let all nations bless themselves in him, let them call him blessed.
Blessed be YHWH God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonders.
And blessed be the name of his glory forever; and let his glory fill the whole earth. Amen and Amen.
The prayers of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.
