For the leader. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song.
In Judah God is known; in Israel his name is great.
And his booth was in Salem, and his dwelling place in Zion.
There he broke the flashing arrows of the bow, the shield and the sword and the battle. Selah.
Resplendent are you, majestic, from the mountains of prey.
The stout of heart were plundered, they slept their sleep; and all the men (ish) of valor did not find their hands.
At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
You, you are to be feared; and who can stand before you from the time of your anger?
From heaven you caused judgment (din) to be heard; the earth feared and was still,
When God arose to the judgment (mishpat), to save all the humble of the earth. Selah.
Surely the wrath of man (adam) shall praise you; the remnant of wrath you gird on yourself.
Vow and fulfill to YHWH your God; all who are around him, let them bring a gift to the one to be feared.
He cuts off the spirit (ruach) of princes; he is feared by the kings of the earth.
