A Song, a Psalm, of Asaph.
God, let there be no silence for you; do not be quiet, and do not be still, God.
For behold, your enemies are in tumult, and those who hate you have lifted up the head.
Against your people they craftily plot, and take counsel against your treasured ones.
They have said, "Come, let us wipe them out from being a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more."
For they have consulted together with one heart; against you they cut a covenant (berit).
the tents (ohel) of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,
Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.
Assyria also has joined with them; they have become an arm to the sons of Lot. Selah.
Do to them as to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kishon,
who were destroyed at En-dor; they became dung for the ground (adamah).
Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, and like Zebah and like Zalmunna all their princes,
who said, "Let us take possession for ourselves of the dwellings of God."
My God, make them like whirling dust, like chaff before the spirit (ruach).
like a fire that burns a forest, and like a flame that sets mountains ablaze,
so pursue them with your tempest, and with your storm terrify them.
Fill their faces with disgrace, that they may seek your name, YHWH.
Let them be ashamed and terrified forever; let them be disgraced and perish,
that they may know that you, whose name is YHWH, you alone, are the Most High (Elyon) over all the earth.
