Psalms 88

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

A song, a psalm of the sons of Korah; for the leader, upon Mahalath Leannoth, a Maskil of Heman the Ezrahite.

YHWH, God of my salvation (yeshuah), by day I have cried out, in the night before you.

Let my prayer come before you; incline your ear to my cry.

For my soul (nephesh) is sated with evils, and my life (chai) draws near to Sheol.

I am counted with those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man who has no strength.

Free among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom you remember no more, and they are cut off from your hand.

You have set me in the lowest pit, in dark places, in the depths.

Upon me your wrath rests, and with all your breakers you have afflicted me. Selah.

You have put my acquaintances far from me; you have made me an abomination to them; I am shut up and cannot go out.

My eye languishes from affliction; I have called upon you, YHWH, every day; I have spread out my palms to you.

Will you do a wonder for the dead? Or will the shades rise to praise you? Selah.

Shall your lovingkindness be recounted in the grave, your faithfulness in Abaddon?

Shall your wonder be known in the darkness, and your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

But I — to you, YHWH, I have cried out for help; and in the morning my prayer comes to meet you.

Why, YHWH, do you cast off my soul (nephesh)? Why do you hide your face from me?

Afflicted am I, and dying from my youth; I have borne your terrors, I am distraught.

Over me your fierce angers have passed; your terrors have destroyed me.

They have surrounded me like water all the day; they have encircled me together.

You have put far from me lover and friend; my acquaintances are darkness.
