Psalms 89

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite.

The mercies of YHWH forever I will sing; to generation and generation I will make known your faithfulness with my mouth.

For I have said: Forever mercy is built; the heavens — you establish your faithfulness in them.

I have cut a covenant (berit) with my chosen, I have sworn to David my servant:

Until forever I will establish your seed, and I will build your throne to generation and generation. Selah.

And the heavens praise your wonder, YHWH; also your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones.

For who in the sky can be compared to YHWH, who is likened to YHWH among the sons of the mighty?

A God greatly feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all those around him.

O YHWH, God of hosts (tzevaot), who is mighty like you, O Yah? And your faithfulness is around you.

You rule over the pride of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.

You crushed Rahab like one slain; with the arm of your strength you scattered your enemies.

Yours are the heavens, also yours the earth; the world and its fullness, you founded them.

The north and the south, you created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.

Yours is an arm with might; strong is your hand, exalted is your right hand.

Righteousness and judgment (mishpat) are the foundation of your throne; mercy and truth go before your face.

Happy is the people who know the shout of joy; YHWH, in the light of your face they walk.

In your name they rejoice all the day, and in your righteousness they are exalted.

For the glory of their strength are you; and in your favor our horn is exalted.

For to YHWH is our shield, and to the Holy One of Israel our king.

Then you spoke in a vision to your godly ones, and you said: I have set help upon a mighty one, I have exalted a chosen one from the people.

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him.

With whom my hand shall be established; also my arm shall strengthen him.

An enemy shall not exact upon him, and a son of wickedness shall not afflict him.

And I will beat down his adversaries before his face, and those who hate him I will strike.

And my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him; and in my name his horn shall be exalted.

And I will set his hand on the sea, and on the rivers his right hand.

He shall call me: You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation (yeshuah).

Also I, a firstborn I will make him, Most High (Elyon) over the kings of the earth.

Forever I will keep my mercy for him, and my covenant (berit) is faithful to him.

And I will set his seed forever, and his throne as the days of the heavens.

If his sons forsake my Torah, and in my judgments (mishpat) they do not walk;

If they profane my statutes (chuqqot), and my commandments (mitzvot) they do not keep;

Then I will visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.

But my mercy I will not break from with him, and I will not be false in my faithfulness.

I will not profane my covenant (berit), and what goes out from my lips I will not change.

Once I have sworn by my holiness; surely I will not lie to David.

His seed shall be forever, and his throne as the sun before me.

As the moon it shall be established forever, and a witness in the sky is faithful. Selah.

But you, you have cast off and rejected, you have been wroth with your anointed.

You have spurned the covenant (berit) of your servant; you have profaned to the ground his crown.

You have broken down all his fences; you have set his strongholds to ruin.

All who pass by the way plunder him; he has become a reproach to his neighbors.

You have raised the right hand of his adversaries; you have made all his enemies rejoice.

Also you turn back the rock of his sword, and you have not made him stand in the battle.

You have caused to shabbat from his brightness, and his throne to the ground you have cast down.

You have shortened the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame. Selah.

How long, YHWH, will you hide yourself forever? Shall your wrath burn like fire?

Remember, as for me, what is lifespan; for what vanity have you created all the sons of man (adam)!

What man lives and shall not see death, who delivers his soul (nephesh) from the hand of Sheol? Selah.

Where are your former mercies, my Lord (Adonai), which you swore to David in your faithfulness?

Remember, my Lord (Adonai), the reproach of your servants; how I bear in my bosom all the many peoples,

with which your enemies have reproached, YHWH, with which they have reproached the footsteps of your anointed.

Blessed is YHWH forever. Amen and Amen.
