A psalm, a song for the Shabbat day.
It is good to give thanks to YHWH, and to sing praises to your name, Most High (Elyon),
to declare your lovingkindness in the morning, and your faithfulness in the nights,
upon the ten-stringed lyre and upon the lute, upon the melody of the harp.
For you have made me glad, YHWH, by your work; in the works of your hands I sing for joy.
How great are your works, YHWH! Very deep are your thoughts.
A brutish man (ish) does not know, and a fool does not understand this.
When the wicked spring up like grass, and all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed forever.
But you are on high forever, YHWH.
For behold, your enemies, YHWH, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
But you have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.
And my eye has looked on my foes; my ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me.
The righteous flourishes like the palm tree; he grows like a cedar in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of YHWH, in the courts of our God they flourish.
Still they bear fruit in old age; they are full of sap and green,
to declare that YHWH is upright; my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
