1And one of the seven angels having the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the krima(verdict) of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters,
2with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those dwelling on the earth were made drunk from the wine of her sexual immorality."
3And he carried me away into a wilderness in the pneuma(spirit), and I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stone and pearls, holding a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and the akathartos(impure, unclean) things of her sexual immorality,
5and on her forehead a name had been written — mysterion(mystery): Babylon the great, the mother of the prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth.
6And I saw the woman drunk from the blood of the holy ones and from the blood of the witnesses of Yeshua(Jesus), and I marveled, seeing her, with great amazement.
7And the angel said to me, "Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mysterion(mystery) of the woman and of the beast carrying her, the one having the seven heads and the ten horns.
8The beast that you saw was and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyssos(bottomless-pit) and go into destruction, and those dwelling on the earth — whose names have not been written on the biblos(scroll) of zoe(life) from the foundation of the world — will marvel when they see the beast, that it was and is not and will be present.
9Here is the nous(intellect, spiritual domain) that has sophia(wisdom): the seven heads are seven mountains where the woman is seated on them,
10and they are seven kings — the five have fallen, the one is, the other has not yet come, and when he comes he must remain a short time.
11And the beast that was and is not — he himself is an eighth and is from the seven, and he goes into destruction.
12And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive exousia(authority) as kings for one hora(that-hour) with the beast.
13These have one mind and they give their dynamis(power) and exousia(authority) to the beast.
14These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with Him are called and chosen and faithful.
15And he says to me, "The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and ethne(nations, Gentiles) and tongues.
16And the ten horns that you saw and the beast — these will hate the prostitute and will make her desolate and naked and will eat her flesh and burn her up with fire.
17For God has put it into their kardia(heart, soul-domain)s to do His purpose and to act with one purpose and to give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God are completed.
18And the woman that you saw is the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth."
