2 Chronicles 1

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

1And Solomon the son of David strengthened himself over his kingdom, and YHWH his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly upward.

2And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of the thousands and the hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers.

3And Solomon went, and all the assembly with him, to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed) of God, which Moses the servant of YHWH had made in the wilderness.

4But the ark of God David had brought up from Kiriath-jearim to the place David had prepared for it; for he had pitched for it a tent at Jerusalem.

5And the altar of bronze that Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, had made, he set before the tabernacle (mishkan) of YHWH; and Solomon and the assembly sought it.

6And Solomon went up there upon the altar of bronze before YHWH, which was at the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed), and he offered upon it a thousand burnt offerings.

7In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, "Ask what I shall give to you."

8And Solomon said to God, "You have done with David my father great loving-kindness, and have made me king in his place.

9Now, YHWH God, let your word with David my father be confirmed; for you have made me king over a people many as the dust (aphar) of the earth.

10Now give to me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out before this people and come in; for who can judge this your great people?"

11And God said to Solomon, "Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, and honor, nor the soul (nephesh) of those who hate you, and also you have not asked many days, but have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge, that you may judge my people over whom I have made you king—

12the wisdom and the knowledge is given to you; and riches and wealth and honor I will give to you, such as has not been thus to the kings who were before you, and after you there shall not be thus."

13And Solomon came to the high place that was at Gibeon, to Jerusalem, from before the tent (ohel) of appointed time (moed); and he reigned over Israel.

14And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placed them in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

15And the king made the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as the stones, and the cedars he made as the sycamores that are in the lowland, for abundance.

16And the going out of the horses that were Solomon's was from Egypt; and from Kue the king's merchants took a drove from Kue at a price.

17And they brought up and brought out from Egypt a chariot for six hundred of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram, by their hand they brought them out.

18And Solomon said to build a house for the name of YHWH, and a house for his kingdom.
