1And the word of YHWH came to me, saying:
2Son of man (adam), set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them;
3and say to the children of Ammon: Hear the word of my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Because you said, Aha, against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the ground (adamah) of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into the captivity;
4therefore, behold, I am giving you to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in you and put in you their dwellings (mishkan); they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.
5And I will make Rabbah a pasture of camels, and the children of Ammon a resting-place of flocks; and you shall know that I am YHWH.
6For thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Because you clapped your hand, and stamped with the foot, and rejoiced with all your scorn in soul (nephesh) against the ground (adamah) of Israel;
7therefore, behold, I have stretched out My hand against you, and I will give you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the peoples, and cause you to perish from the lands; I will destroy you, and you shall know that I am YHWH.
8Thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;
9therefore, behold, I am opening the shoulder of Moab from the cities, from his cities at his frontier, the glory of the land — Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim —
10to the children of the east, against the children of Ammon, and I will give it for a possession, so that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.
11And in Moab I will execute judgments; and they shall know that I am YHWH.
12Thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Because Edom acted in taking vengeance against the house of Judah, and they have greatly offended, and avenged themselves on them;
13therefore thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, and cut off from it man (adam) and beast; and I will make it a waste from Teman, and to Dedan they shall fall by the sword.
14And I will lay My vengeance upon Edom by the hand of My people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance, the declaration of my Lord (Adonai) YHWH.
15Thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Because the Philistines acted in vengeance, and took vengeance with scorn in soul (nephesh), to destroy with everlasting enmity;
16therefore thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: Behold, I am stretching out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea-coast.
17And I will execute great vengeances upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am YHWH, when I lay My vengeance upon them.
