And he brought me out to the outer court, the way toward the north; and he brought me to the chamber which was opposite the separate place and which was opposite the building toward the north.
To the face of the length, a hundred cubits, the north opening; and the breadth, fifty cubits.
Opposite the twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court; gallery against gallery in three stories.
And before the chambers a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their openings toward the north.
And the upper chambers were shortened, for the galleries took from them, more than from the lower and from the middle of the building.
For they were in three stories, and they had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore room was withdrawn from the lower and from the middle from the ground.
And a wall which was outside, corresponding to the chambers, the way to the outer court before the chambers, its length fifty cubits.
For the length of the chambers which were to the outer court was fifty cubits; and behold, before the temple, a hundred cubits.
And below these chambers was the entrance from the east, as one enters them from the outer court.
In the breadth of the wall of the court toward the east, before the separate place and before the building, chambers.
And a way before them, like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, like their length so their breadth; and all their goings out, and according to their judgments (mishpat), and like their openings.
And like the openings of the chambers which were toward the south, an opening at the head of the way, the way before the wall directly, the way toward the east, as one enters them.
And he said to me: "The chambers of the north, the chambers of the south which are before the separate place, they are the holy chambers where the priests who are near to YHWH eat the holy of holies; there they lay the holy of holies, and the grain offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering; for the place is holy.
When the priests enter, they shall not go out from the holy place to the outer court, but there they shall lay their garments in which they minister, for they are holy; and they shall put on other garments, and they shall draw near to that which is for the people."
And he finished the measures of the inner house, and he brought me out by the way of the gate whose face is toward the east; and he measured it round about, round about.
He measured the spirit (ruach) of the east with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
He measured the spirit (ruach) of the north, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
The spirit (ruach) of the south he measured, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.
He turned to the spirit (ruach) of the sea, he measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
To four spirits (ruach) he measured it; it had a wall round about, round about, length five hundred and breadth five hundred, to separate between the holy and the profane.
