And he led me to the gate, the gate which faces toward the east.
And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east; and his voice was like the voice of many waters; and the earth shone from his glory.
And like the appearance of the appearance which I saw, like the appearance which I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the appearances were like the appearance which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
And the glory of YHWH came to the house by the way of the gate whose face is toward the east.
And a spirit (ruach) lifted me up and brought me to the inner court; and behold, the glory of YHWH filled the house.
And I heard one speaking to me from the house, and a man (ish) was standing beside me.
And he said to me: "Son of man (adam), the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell there in the midst of the sons of Israel forever; and the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, they and their kings, by their harlotry and by the carcasses of their kings, their high places;
in their setting of their threshold with my threshold, and their doorpost beside my doorpost, and the wall between me and between them; and they defiled my holy name by their abominations which they did; and I consumed them in my anger.
Now let them put far their harlotry and the carcasses of their kings from me, and I will dwell in their midst forever.
You, son of man (adam), declare to the house of Israel the house, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the plan.
And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house and its arrangement, and its goings out, and its comings in, and all its forms, and all its statutes (chuqqot), and all its forms, and all its Torah, and write it before their eyes; that they may keep all its form and all its statutes (chuqqot), and do them.
This is the Torah of the house: upon the head of the mountain, all its border round about, round about, is holy of holies; behold, this is the Torah of the house.
And these are the measures of the altar by cubits — the cubit is a cubit and a handbreadth: the base, a cubit, and the breadth, a cubit, and its border by its edge round about, one span; and this is the back of the altar.
And from the base on the ground to the lower ledge, two cubits, and breadth, one cubit; and from the lesser ledge to the greater ledge, four cubits, and breadth, the cubit.
And the hearth, four cubits; and from the hearth and upward, the four horns.
And the hearth, twelve cubits length by twelve breadth, square at its four sides.
And the ledge, fourteen cubits length by fourteen breadth at its four sides; and the border around it, half a cubit; and the base to it, a cubit round about; and its steps facing the east.
And he said to me: "Son of man (adam), thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: These are the statutes (chuqqot) of the altar in the day it is made, to offer up upon it a burnt offering and to dash blood upon it.
And you shall give to the priests, the Levites, who are of the seed of Zadok, who are near to me, declares my Lord (Adonai) YHWH, to minister to me, a young bull, a son of the herd, for a sin offering.
And you shall take of its blood and put it upon the four horns of it, and upon the four corners of the ledge, and upon the border round about; and you shall purify it and make atonement for it.
And you shall take the bull of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary.
And on the second day you shall offer a male goat of the goats, without blemish, for a sin offering; and they shall purify the altar as they purified it with the bull.
When you finish purifying, you shall offer a young bull, a son of the herd, without blemish, and a ram from the flock, without blemish.
And you shall present them before YHWH, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up, a burnt offering to YHWH.
Seven days you shall make a goat for a sin offering for the day; and a young bull, a son of the herd, and a ram from the flock, without blemish, they shall make.
Seven days they shall make atonement for the altar and cleanse it; and they shall fill its hands.
And they shall finish the days; and it shall be on the eighth day and onward, the priests shall make upon the altar your burnt offerings and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, declares my Lord (Adonai) YHWH."
