1And the word of YHWH came to me, saying:
2"And you, son of man (adam), thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH to the ground (adamah) of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.
3Now is the end upon you, and I will send my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring upon you all your abominations.
4And my eye shall not spare you, and I will not pity; for your ways I will bring upon you, and your abominations shall be in your midst; and you shall know that I am YHWH.
5Thus says my Lord (Adonai) YHWH: An evil, a single evil—behold, it comes.
6An end has come, the end has come; it has awakened against you; behold, it comes.
7The doom has come upon you, O inhabitant of the land; the time has come, the day is near—tumult, and not the shouting of the mountains.
8Now shortly I will pour out my fury upon you, and complete my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and bring upon you all your abominations.
9And my eye shall not spare, and I will not pity; according to your ways I will bring upon you, and your abominations shall be in your midst; and you shall know that I, YHWH, am smiting.
10Behold the day! Behold, it comes! The doom has gone forth; the rod has blossomed, the insolence has budded.
11The violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness; nothing of them, and nothing of their multitude, and nothing of their tumult, and no eminence among them.
12The time has come, the day has drawn near; let not the buyer rejoice, and let not the seller mourn, for burning wrath is upon all its multitude.
13For the seller shall not return to what is sold, even while their life (chai) is among the living (chai); for the vision is concerning all its multitude—it shall not turn back; and a man (ish), in his iniquity is his life (chai), they shall not strengthen themselves.
14They have blown the trumpet and prepared everything, but none goes to the battle; for my burning wrath is upon all its multitude.
15The sword is outside, and the pestilence and the famine inside; he who is in the field shall die by the sword, and he who is in the city—famine and pestilence shall devour him.
16And those of them who escape shall escape, and they shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each (ish) in his iniquity.
17All the hands shall be feeble, and all the knees shall run with water.
18And they shall gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
19Their silver they shall cast into the streets, and their gold shall become an impurity; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of YHWH; their soul (nephesh) they shall not satisfy, and their bowels they shall not fill; for it was the stumbling block of their iniquity.
20And the beauty of his ornament—he set it for pride; and the images of their abominations, their detestable things, they made in it; therefore I have made it to them an impurity.
21And I will give it into the hand of strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it.
22And I will turn my face from them, and they shall profane my treasured place; and violent ones shall enter into it and profane it.
23Make the chain; for the land is full of judgment (mishpat) of blood, and the city is full of violence.
24And I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses; and I will cause the pride of the strong to cease, and their holy places shall be profaned.
25Anguish comes; and they shall seek peace, and there is none.
26Disaster upon disaster shall come, and rumor upon rumor shall be; and they shall seek a vision from the prophet, but Torah shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.
27The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled. According to their way I will do to them, and with their judgments (mishpat) I will judge them; and they shall know that I am YHWH."
