And God remembered Noah, and every living thing (chai), and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a spirit (ruach) to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
And the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were stopped, and the rain from the heavens was restrained.
And the waters returned from upon the earth, going and returning; and the waters decreased at the end of a hundred and fifty days.
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
And the waters were going and decreasing ad(עד) the tenth month; in the tenth, on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains appeared.
And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
And he sent forth the raven, and it went out, going out and returning, ad(עד) the waters were dried up from upon the earth.
And he sent forth the dove from him, to see whether the waters had abated from upon the face of the ground (adamah).
But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him, to the ark, for the waters were upon the face of all the earth; and he put forth his hand and took her and brought her to him into the ark.
And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove from the ark.
And the dove came in to him at the time of evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had abated from upon the earth.
And he waited yet another seven days, and he sent forth the dove; and she did not return to him again.
And it came to pass, in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month, that the waters were dried from upon the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the face of the ground (adamah) was dried.
And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
And God spoke to Noah, saying,
"Go out from the ark, you and your woman (ishah) and your sons and the women (ishah) of your sons with you.
Every living thing (chai) that is with you, of all flesh (basar), of bird and of cattle and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, bring out with you; and let them swarm in the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth."
And Noah went out, and his sons and his woman (ishah) and the women (ishah) of his sons with him.
Every living thing (chai), every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves upon the earth, after their families, went out of the ark.
And Noah built an altar to YHWH, and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings upon the altar.
And YHWH smelled the soothing aroma; and YHWH said in his heart, "I will not again curse the ground (adamah) any more because of man (adam), for the inclination of the heart of man (adam) is evil from his youth; and I will not again strike any more every living thing (chai), as I have done.
Yet all the days of the earth, seed and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
