Job 18

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:

How long until you put an end to words? Understand, and afterward we will speak.

Why are we counted as beasts, and reckoned stupid in your eyes?

He who tears his soul (nephesh) in his anger — shall the earth be forsaken for you, or the rock be moved from its place?

Indeed, the light of the wicked goes out, and the flame of his fire does not shine.

The light grows dark in his tent, and his lamp over him goes out.

The steps of his strength are straitened, and his own counsel casts him down.

For he is sent into a net by his feet, and upon a snare he walks.

A trap seizes him by the heel; a snare prevails over him.

Hidden in the ground is his rope, and his trap upon the path.

All around terrors frighten him, and chase him at his feet.

His strength is hungry, and calamity is ready for his stumbling.

It devours the limbs of his skin; the firstborn of death devours his limbs.

His confidence is torn from his tent, and it marches him to the king of terrors.

There dwells in his tent what is not his; brimstone is scattered upon his abode.

Beneath, his roots dry up, and above his branch withers.

His remembrance perishes from the earth, and he has no name on the face of the street.

They drive him from light into darkness, and chase him from the world.

He has no offspring nor posterity among his people, and no survivor in his dwellings.

At his day those after are appalled, and those before seize horror.

Surely these are the dwellings (mishkan) of the unjust, and this is the place of him who does not know God.
