Job 39

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

Do you know the time when the wild goats of the rock give birth? Do you watch the calving of the hinds?

Can you number the months that they fulfill, and do you know the time when they give birth?

They bow down, they bring forth their young, they cast out their pangs.

Their young grow strong, they grow up in the open field; they go out and do not return to them.

Who has sent out the wild donkey free? And the bonds of the wild donkey, who has loosed,

whose house I have made the desert plain, and its dwellings (mishkan) the salt land?

He laughs at the tumult of the city; the shoutings of the driver he does not hear.

He explores the mountains for his pasture, and after every green thing he searches.

Will the wild ox be willing to serve (avad) you? Will he lodge by your crib?

Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with his cord? Or will he harrow the valleys after you?

Will you trust in him, because his strength is great? And will you leave your labor to him?

Will you rely on him, that he will bring back your seed, and gather it to your threshing floor?

The wing of the ostrich flaps joyously; but is it the pinion of the stork and plumage?

For she leaves her eggs to the earth, and on the dust (aphar) she warms them,

and she forgets that a foot may crush them, and the living thing (chai) of the field may trample them.

She deals harshly with her young, as though they were not hers; her labor is in vain, yet she is without fear;

because God has made her forget wisdom, and did not give her a share in understanding.

At the time when she lifts herself on high, she laughs at the horse and its rider.

Do you give the horse strength? Do you clothe his neck with a mane?

Do you make him leap like the locust? The majesty of his snorting is a terror.

They paw in the valley, and he rejoices in strength; he goes out to meet the weapons.

He laughs at fear and is not dismayed, and does not turn back from before the sword.

Upon him rattles the quiver, the flashing of the spear and the javelin.

With trembling and rage he swallows the ground, and does not believe that it is the sound of the shofar.

At the blast of the shofar he says, 'Aha!' and from afar he smells the battle, the thunder of the captains, and the shout.

Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, and spreads his wings toward the south?

Is it at your mouth that the eagle mounts up, and that he lifts his nest on high?

On a rock he dwells and lodges, upon the crag of the rock and the stronghold.

From there he spies out food; from afar his eyes look.

And his young ones lap up blood; and where the slain are, there is he."
