Jonah 2

Yeshua Literal Version (YLV)

And YHWH appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

And Jonah prayed to YHWH his God from the belly of the fish.

And he said: "I called from my distress to YHWH, and he answered me; from the belly of Sheol I cried out, you heard my voice.

And you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the river surrounded me; all your breakers and your waves passed over me.

And I said: 'I am driven out from before your eyes; yet I will again look toward your holy temple.'

The waters encompassed me to the soul (nephesh), the deep surrounded me; reeds were wrapped about my head.

To the bottoms of the mountains I went down; the earth, her bars were behind me forever; yet you brought up my life (chai) from the pit, O YHWH my God.

When my soul (nephesh) fainted within me, I remembered YHWH; and my prayer came to you, to your holy temple.

Those who regard worthless vanities forsake their own mercy.

But I, with the voice of thanksgiving I will sacrifice to you; that which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation (yeshuah) is YHWH's."

And YHWH spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah onto the dry land.
