You shall not make for yourselves idols, and a graven image or a pillar you shall not raise up for yourselves, and a figured stone you shall not place in your land to bow down upon it; for I am YHWH your God.
My Shabbat you shall keep, and My sanctuary you shall revere: I am YHWH.
If you walk in My statutes (chuqqot), and keep My commandments (mitzvah) and do them;
then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall give her produce, and the tree of the field shall give its fruit.
And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell securely in your land.
And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none making afraid; and I will cause the evil living thing (chai) to shabbat from the land, and the sword shall not pass through your land.
And you shall pursue your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
And five of you shall pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you shall pursue ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
And I will turn to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will establish My covenant (berit) with you.
And you shall eat the old grown old, and the old you shall bring out from before the new.
And I will set My tabernacle (mishkan) in your midst, and My soul (nephesh) shall not abhor you.
And I will walk about in your midst, and I will be to you for God, and you shall be to Me for a people.
I am YHWH your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from being slaves to them; and I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.
But if you will not listen to Me, and will not do all these commandments (mitzvah);
and if you reject My statutes (chuqqot), and if your soul (nephesh) abhors My judgments (mishpat), so as not to do all My commandments (mitzvah), to break My covenant (berit);
I also will do this to you: and I will appoint over you terror, consumption and fever, consuming the eyes and causing the soul (nephesh) to languish; and you shall sow your seed in vain, and your enemies shall eat it.
And I will set My face against you, and you shall be struck before your enemies; and those hating you shall rule over you, and you shall flee with none pursuing you.
And if up to these you will not listen to Me, then I will add to chastise you sevenfold for your sins.
And I will break the pride of your strength, and I will make your heavens like iron and your land like bronze.
And your strength shall be spent in vain, and your land shall not give her produce, and the tree of the land shall not give its fruit.
And if you walk with Me contrary, and are not willing to listen to Me, then I will add upon you a blow sevenfold according to your sins.
And I will send among you the living thing (chai) of the field, and it shall bereave you, and cut off your cattle, and make you few; and your ways shall be desolate.
And if by these you will not be corrected to Me, but walk with Me contrary;
then I also will walk with you contrary, and I will strike you, even I, sevenfold for your sins.
And I will bring upon you a sword avenging the vengeance of the covenant (berit); and you shall be gathered into your cities, and I will send pestilence in your midst, and you shall be given into the hand of the enemy.
When I break for you the staff of bread, ten women (ishah) shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall return your bread by weight; and you shall eat and not be satisfied.
And if by this you will not listen to Me, but walk with Me contrary;
then I will walk with you in fury contrary, and I, even I, will chastise you sevenfold for your sins.
And you shall eat the flesh (basar) of your sons, and the flesh (basar) of your daughters you shall eat.
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and I will put your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols; and My soul (nephesh) shall abhor you.
And I will make your cities a waste, and lay your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell the aroma of your sweet savor.
And I, I will make the land desolate, and your enemies who dwell in it shall be appalled at it.
And you I will scatter among the nations, and I will draw out a sword after you; and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
Then shall the land enjoy its Shabbat all the days of its desolation, while you are in the land of your enemies; then shall the land shabbat and enjoy its Shabbat.
All the days of its desolation it shall shabbat, that which it did not shabbat in your Shabbat while you dwelt upon it.
And as for those remaining among you, I will bring faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a driven leaf shall pursue them, and they shall flee as one fleeing from a sword, and they shall fall with none pursuing.
And they shall stumble, a man (ish) over his brother, as before a sword, with none pursuing; and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
And those remaining among you shall pine away in their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also in the iniquities of their fathers with them they shall pine away.
And they shall confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their treachery which they committed against Me, and also that they walked with Me contrary.
I also will walk with them contrary, and bring them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and then they accept their iniquity;
then I will remember My covenant (berit) with Jacob, and also My covenant (berit) with Isaac, and also My covenant (berit) with Abraham I will remember; and the land I will remember.
And the land shall be forsaken by them, and shall enjoy its Shabbat in its desolation without them; and they shall accept their iniquity, because, even because they rejected My judgments (mishpat), and their soul (nephesh) abhorred My statutes (chuqqot).
And yet even this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I have not rejected them, and I have not abhorred them to make an end of them, to break My covenant (berit) with them; for I am YHWH their God.
And I will remember for them the covenant (berit) of the former ones, whom I brought out from the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, to be to them for God: I am YHWH.
These are the statutes (chuqqim) and the judgments (mishpat) and the Torah which YHWH gave between Him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
