1And in all this we are cutting a firm agreement, and writing it; and upon the sealed document are our princes, our Levites, our priests.
2And upon the sealed documents: Nehemiah the Tirshatha, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;
3Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah;
4Pashhur, Amariah, Malchijah;
5Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch;
6Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah;
7Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch;
8Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin;
9Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah; these were the priests.
10And the Levites: Yeshua son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel;
11and their brothers, Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan;
12Mica, Rehob, Hashabiah;
13Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah;
14Hodiah, Bani, Beninu.
15The heads of the people: Parosh, Pahath-moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani;
16Bunni, Azgad, Bebai;
17Adonijah, Bigvai, Adin;
18Ater, Hezekiah, Azzur;
19Hodiah, Hashum, Bezai;
20Hariph, Anathoth, Nebai;
21Magpiash, Meshullam, Hezir;
22Meshezabel, Zadok, Jaddua;
23Pelatiah, Hanan, Anaiah;
24Hoshea, Hananiah, Hasshub;
25Hallohesh, Pilha, Shobek;
26Rehum, Hashabnah, Maaseiah;
27and Ahijah, Hanan, Anan;
28Malluch, Harim, Baanah.
29And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Torah of God, their wives (ishah), their sons, and their daughters, everyone knowing and understanding;
30holding fast to their brothers, their nobles, and entering into a curse and into an oath to walk in the Torah of God, which was given by the hand of Moses the servant of God, and to keep and to do all the commandments (mitzvot) of YHWH our Lord (Adonai), and His judgments (mishpat) and His statutes (chuqqim);
31and that we would not give our daughters to the peoples of the land, and that we would not take their daughters for our sons;
32and the peoples of the land who bring the wares and any grain on the day of the Shabbat to sell — we would not take from them on the Shabbat or on a holy day; and that we would forego the seventh year and the exaction of every hand.
33And we established for ourselves commandments (mitzvot), to lay upon ourselves a third of the shekel yearly for the service (avodah) of the house of our God;
34for the bread of the arrangement, and the continual grain-offering, and for the continual burnt-offering, the Shabbat, the new moons, for the appointed times (moadim), and for the holy things, and for the sin-offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.
35And we cast the lots — the priests, the Levites, and the people — concerning the offering of the wood, to bring it to the house of our God, according to the house of our fathers, at appointed times, year by year, to burn upon the altar of YHWH our God, as it is written in the Torah;
36and to bring the firstfruits of our ground (adamah), and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of YHWH;
37and the firstborn of our sons and of our cattle, as it is written in the Torah, and the firstborn of our herds and our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God;
38and the first of our dough, and our heave-offerings, and the fruit of every tree, the new wine and the oil, we would bring to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithe of our ground (adamah) to the Levites, for they, the Levites, are the ones who take the tithes in all the cities of our labor (avodah).
39And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites take the tithes; and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithe to the house of our God, to the chambers, to the treasure house.
40For to the chambers the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the heave-offering of the grain, the new wine, and the oil; and there are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers, and the singers; and we will not forsake the house of our God.
