To the chief musician, a psalm of David.
Deliver me, YHWH, from the evil man (adam); from the man (ish) of violences preserve me;
who devise evils in the heart; all the day they stir up wars.
They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; venom of a viper is under their lips. Selah.
Keep me, YHWH, from the hands of the wicked; from the man (ish) of violences preserve me, who have devised to thrust aside my steps.
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net beside the track; they have set traps for me. Selah.
I said to YHWH, "You are my God"; give ear, YHWH, to the voice of my supplications.
YHWH my Lord (Adonai), strength of my salvation (yeshuah), you have covered my head in the day of arms.
Do not grant, YHWH, the desires of the wicked; do not further his evil device, lest they be exalted. Selah.
As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their lips cover them.
Let coals be dropped upon them; into the fire let him make them fall, into deep pits, that they not rise.
A man (ish) of tongue shall not be established in the earth; the man (ish) of violence, evil shall hunt him to overthrows.
I know that YHWH will do the judgment (din) of the afflicted, the judgment (mishpat) of the needy.
Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name; the upright shall dwell before your face.
