1A prayer of Moses, the man (ish) of God. My Lord (Adonai), you have been a dwelling place for us in generation and generation.
2Before the mountains were brought forth, and you brought forth the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3You turn man back to contrition, and you say, "Return, sons of man (adam)."
4For a thousand years in your eyes are as yesterday when it passes, and as a watch in the night.
5You flood them away; they are a sleep; in the morning they are like grass that passes.
6In the morning it flourishes and passes; at evening it is cut down and withers.
7For we are consumed by your anger, and by your wrath we are terrified.
8You have set our iniquities before you, our hidden things in the light of your face.
9For all our days have turned away in your wrath; we finish our years like a sigh.
10The days of our years in them are seventy years, and if by strength, eighty years; yet their pride is toil and trouble, for it is quickly gone, and we fly away.
11Who knows the strength of your anger, and your wrath according to the fear of you?
12To number our days, so teach us, that we may bring in a heart of wisdom.
13Return, YHWH! Until when? And relent concerning your servants.
14Satisfy us in the morning with your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and rejoice in all our days.
15Make us glad according to the days you afflicted us, the years we saw evil.
16Let your work appear to your servants, and your majesty upon their children.
17And let the pleasantness of my Lord (Adonai) our God be upon us; and the work of our hands establish upon us; yes, the work of our hands establish it.
