Bible Verses Containing the Word "Shabbaton" שבתון

In the Hebrew Scriptures, "Shabbaton" appears in a fascinating combination with "Shabbat" and "Holy" in three verses in Exodus:

Reflect on these verses together. This will help you understand why the Koine New Testament combines שבתון "Shabbaton" and שבת "Shabbat" into the single term "Sabbaton, σάββατον" and why it is transliterated rather than translated into Greek. These combinations underscore the importance of preserving the original meanings and nuances of these sacred terms.

Exodus 16:23

And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is a Shabbaton Shabbat Holy unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

Exodus 31:15

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a Shabbat Shabbaton Holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work therein shall be put to death.

Exodus 35:2

For six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be your Holy Shabbat Shabbaton to the LORD. Whoever does any work on that day must be put to death.

Matthew 12:1-21: The correct way to observe the Sabbath is to enter into Jesus Christ. As of October 7, 2023, the time has come to speak plainly and swiftly. Those who do not enter into Jesus Christ will not withstand judgment. Failure to enter the Sabbath, established for humanity, will result in eternal damnation in the lake of fire. Death is inevitable.

Matthew 12:14: The Pharisees' excuse to kill Jesus was based on the law of sin and death within the Torah. The law of the Spirit of life within the Torah was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Therefore, one must believe in Jesus Christ. Only then does the victory of Jesus Christ's cross, incarnated under the law of sin and death to provide atonement, become the believer's triumph.

Luke 23:56: The Bible records that the women who dearly loved Jesus rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. Observing the Sabbath according to the commandment is the true gospel of the kingdom. It reflects the lives of those who have claimed the victory of the cross. They are not ones who crucify others under the law of sin and death. Instead, each must crucify themselves. Living a life of obedience to God's Word, according to the law of the Spirit of life, means nailing oneself to the holy commandment.

However, no one can fulfill all the requirements and conditions of the Torah through their own actions. If anyone had achieved this, the righteous Creator God would have granted them eternal life. But no one has received eternal life. Therefore, in a world dominated by sin and evil, one must enter into Jesus Christ, who has fulfilled the law of the Spirit of life as prophesied in the Torah.

The way to enter into Jesus is only through faith. Yet, incorrect interpretations of the Bible emphasize a dead faith without actions in accordance with biblical teachings. Jesus' teachings in Matthew 25 illustrate the difference between dead faith and living faith.

The best way to interpret Matthew 25 is by fully understanding the entire Bible. For example, separating Romans 7:1 to 3 from the context can lead to a theology of licentious freedom. This approach prevents entry into the law of the Spirit of life from Romans 8:3 onwards, leading to destruction.

In the law of the Spirit of life, looking at a woman with lustful intent is already considered adultery, even without the act. Therefore, when corrupt thoughts enter the fallen human mind, one must immediately use the victory of Jesus' cross as the sword of the Word to battle Satan. Importantly, this battle is destined for victory.

Thus, MOW-E-DIM (appointed times), represented by the Sabbaton according to the commandments, must be observed. This means rejoicing and feasting in Jesus Christ, our High Priest, who resides in the holy sanctuary of heaven.

2 Thessalonians 3:5-6: May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance. Brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we command you to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the tradition you received from us.

2 Thessalonians 3:14-15: If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with them, so that they may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard them as an enemy but warn them as a brother.

Key Point: This includes distancing oneself from those who preach a different gospel and those who do not long for the return and rapture of Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:17-18: I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

These are Shabbaton, Moed and Chag in the Torah

These feasts, significant in Jewish tradition, are not only commemorations of God's past interventions in history but also prophetic in nature, pointing to the work of the Messiah. The four Moedim that have been fulfilled and will be completed by Yeshua include:

These fulfilled Moedim demonstrate how Yeshua is intricately woven into the fabric of God's appointed times, fulfilling the Law and the Prophets in His life, death, resurrection, and the giving of the Holy Spirit.
